About Us

Indian Pharmacist Association, Chhattisgarh was founded in March 2020 . The association is registered under Society Registrikaran Adhiniyam 1973 bearing registration number 1378 .

Since the association was founded, we have contributed the profession, and are renowned as safeguards of medicines information. We promote pharmacy in the media and government, lead the way in medicines information, and support pharmacists in their education and development.

Our expert members, and strong volunteer leadership, including many experienced pharmacists, allow us to deliver vital guidance to help pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists, student pharmacists and pharmacy technicians find success and satisfaction in their work, while advocating for changes that benefit them and their patients.

Who we are?

We are the pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and registered pharmacies in state of Chhattisgarh, India. Our main objective is to protect, promote and maintain the health, safety and wellbeing of members of the public by upholding standards and public trust in pharmacy.

We are a statutory organisation, and we are independent from government enforcing Implementation of Drug and Cosmetic Act & Rules 1940 & 1945, Pharmacy Practice Regulations 2015. We are funded by fees paid by the pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacies that register with us.

We have a governing body called Indian Pharmacists Association (IPA) made up of several pharmacy professionals and members from various Indian states.

What does a pharmacist do?

  • Pharmacists are responsible for:
  • The quality of medicines supplied to patients
  • Ensuring that the supply of medicines is within the local law
  • Making sure that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable for their intended purpose
  • Educating patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patients' questions.
  • Pharmacists also:
  • Manage the medicines supply chain and ensure pharmacy premises and systems are fit for purpose
  • Consult other healthcare professionals about safe and effective medicines use, and safe and secure supply of medicines
  • Record patients' symptoms and advise on medicines for sale in pharmacies
  • May also provide services to patients, such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement and cholesterol management
  • Study the production and preparation of medicines and assessments of quality of medicines before they are supplied to patients from pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Get involved

We engage widely with Pharmacist, Technicians, dispensers, patients, carers, users of pharmacy services and the public, the wider pharmacy team, and key influencers.

We do this by:

1 : Holding consultations to gather views on vital aspects of our work, including the standards and rules we promote and enforce and guidance documents that we produce. We are committed to consulting everyone with an interest in pharmacy, providing opportunities to feedback and help shape our work on important matters.
Consultation is a formal process for seeking the views of our stakeholders. Stakeholders are all those individuals and organisations who affect or are affected by our work, including:

  • Patients, carers, users of pharmacy services and members of the public
